Now that the weather has finally started warming up (in QLD anyway), it’s time to get a beach run in, maybe get lucky and see some whales and dolphins.
Meeting point Caboolture North BP (big fuel station just off the M1) at 9am for a 9:30am depart. We shall have a stop at Bongaree to grab some baked goods either from Kenilworth bakery or a delicious beverage across the road at Annie Lane. Due to tides we shall take the inland track up so once we get to the inland track we shall air down. Once we get to the beach we shall check out what’s left of the bunkers and set up and relax on the beach. High tide approx 8:30am, Low tide will be about 2:30pm in the arvo by then we should be right to head on back home.
Being a national park. No dogs. Permits needed. Attached are tide times and website needed for permit.

-Head to Wallers Road at Gatton where we will then stop to air down tyres. Some easy to medium challenging 4x4ing in the Lockyer National Park. Tougher section closer to top- however if not confident (weather permitting also) there is another way around to meet up the top.
-Stop at Ravensbourne for a toilet break, check out the old steam train and air up our tyres. We will then head up to Gus Beutel lookout not far away which overlooks the Lockyer Valley.
-Drive north past Hampton to Crows nest- which if people would like- we can stop at a cafe called Little Blueberry.
-Continue north and turning off the black stuff we will be going through Pierces Creek and Anduramba onwards to Blackbutt.
According to the internet there are a couple of water crossings but nothing challenging. We shall have another stop along the way depending on time. When we arrive at Blackbutt of course you can head on back home but you should stop into the bakery.
