Easy Day Trip with JK
Trip Leader: JK
Meeting Point: BP Caboolture Services Centre
Meeting Time: 8.00am for 8.30 departure.
Explore a little of Brisbane's Northern 'Backyard'.
Departing from BP Caboolture Services, we'll initially head north before leaving the Bruce Highway to join the D'Aguilar Highway. We'll pass thru the towns of Woodford & Kilcoy before reaching the hamlet of Moore, where we leave the highway to join the Linville track.
Heading north along the track we'll visit the headwaters of the Brisbane River and cross the river and its tributaries over 30 times. Spectacular scenery passing by Mount Spencer & Mount Stanley as we head thru Squirrel Creek & Mount Stanley State Forests.
At its northern most point the Linville Track joins the Burnett Highway for an easy cruise into Nanango. We leave the highway again for the Old Yarraman Road to visit The Seven Mile Gold Diggings which will be our lunch stop on the banks of a cracker swimming hole.
Mid afternoon we'll continue along the Old Yarraman Road into Yarraman.
Then its an easy run down the D'aguilar Highway to the Bruce Highway and home.
Trip is graded easy over sealed & dirt roads and well formed forest tracks. Patches can get slippery after heavy rain.
No fees or permits required.
Trip is pet friendly - Fred personally recommends the swimming hole!!
